App Permissions

RingLy requires specific Android permissions to function properly. Here's exactly why we need each permission and how we use it:

Notification Access

Required: Essential for core functionality

Purpose: Detect incoming call notifications from WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Instagram, and Messenger to apply your rules.

Privacy: We only read notification metadata (sender, app) - never message content. All processing happens on your device.

Do Not Disturb Access

Required: For DND and volume control features

Purpose: Temporarily modify your phone's volume and DND settings when important calls come through, then restore your previous settings.

Privacy: We only change system settings temporarily and automatically restore them.

Contacts Permission

Optional: For easier rule setup

Purpose: Help you select contacts when creating rules instead of manually typing names or numbers.

Privacy: Contact data never leaves your device. Used only for local matching and rule creation.

Phone Permission

Optional: For regular phone call support

Purpose: Detect and manage regular phone calls in addition to messaging app calls.

Privacy: We only read call state (incoming/outgoing) and caller ID for rule matching. No call recording or monitoring.

Children's Privacy

Age Requirements

RingLy is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are under 18:
